Stormwater
What is Stormwater
Stormwater runoff is generated from rain and snowmelt events that flow over land or impervious surfaces, such as paved streets, parking lots, and building rooftops, and does not soak into the ground. Parsippany has an extensive Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SPPP).
Parsippany Stormwater Control Ordinance
The Township seeks to adopt greater stormwater controls, as appropriate, which will provide significant water quality and flood risk reduction benefits to the Township and its residents. The provisions of the ordinance are intended to supplement existing requirements.

Litter Free Storm Drain Projects
Posted Friday, December 5, 2025
The Township of Parsippany Troy-Hill’s Engineering Division, as part of the NJDEP stormwater requirements, is focusing on Litter Free Storm Drain projects around the Township.
On November 8th, in partnership with Liquid Church from Parsippany and its members, the township of Parsippany hosted a storm drains labeling and litter cleaning event.
The storm drains labeling is a reminder to all Township residents of "No Dumping " anything in the storm drains as the water flows to our local waterways.
The Township of Parsippany Troy-Hills would like to extend a thank you to Liquid Church and all of the participating members for all their assistance, the township is a little cleaner and residents are more educated to keep our waterways clean!
