Are you currently enrolled in Medicare?  Would you like to find out about changes you can make to your current plan so that it serves you better?  Then attend this informative presentation on Medicare Open Enrollment by a State Certified Medicare Counselor on October 22nd, 2025 at 10am, at the Parsippany Senior Center (1130 Knoll Road, Lake Hiawatha).

The Medicare Open Enrollment period is between October 15th to December 7th each year. During this time period, individuals with Medicare can make changes to their coverage, including switching Medicare Advantage plans, joining or dropping Part D prescription drug plans, or switching back to Original Medicare.  The presenter will go over this process, and also offer information on NJ SAVE, a program designed to help individuals save money on Medicare premiums, drug costs, and living expenses.

The Parsippany Office on Aging is Accepting Applications for the 2023 Socolowski Senior Citizen of the Year Award

July 26, 2023, PARSIPPANY, NJ - Do you know an older Parsippany resident who has gone above and beyond volunteering their time to improve the lives of others? Then don’t delay in nominating them for the “2023 Socolowski Senior Citizen of the Year Award.” Mayor James R. Barberio and the Township of Parsippany’s Office on Aging will be honoring two resident volunteers, aged 60 and over, who have offered their time and experience to worthwhile projects, causes, or activities which enhance people’s lives. The nominee may be employed, but only volunteer work will be considered. Thanks to the Estate of Jean D. Socolowski, monetary prizes will be awarded to the winning volunteers.

Applications are available at www.parsippany.net under the Health and Human Services Department Forms section, by calling 973-263-7163, or by visiting the Office on Aging at the Parsippany Senior Center, 1130 Knoll Road, Lake Hiawatha, NJ, 07034. Completed applications can be faxed to 973-299-1349, emailed to mpicone@parsippany.net, or submitted by mail or in person to the above address. Applications will be accepted through September 30, 2023.

Parsippany Township employees, past winners, and elected officials are not eligible. Prior year’s applicants who did not win are encouraged to apply again.

Our Parsippany Senior Community Center has many opportunities for our resident elders to enjoy themselves. Our  Senior Fitness class pictured here is just one of the many exercise classes at our Senior Community Center. This class is held on Tuesdays at 9:15am.   Our Center is located at 1130 Knoll Road, Lake Hiawatha, and is open 9am to 5pm , Monday through Friday.  Questions call 973-263-7351.
